2021 Visual Arts Centre
As a casual learning assistant at 2021 visual arts centre, I have learnt to assist in workshops, and also deliver after school sessions and at youth clubs. Workshops at 2021 are targeted projects for young people and children to engage and encourage further understanding around Maths, Science and English.
The ‘Popping Portraits’ workshop explored self-portraiture based on Pop Art, and influences such as Roy Lichtenstein’s famous Benday dots, Andy Warhol’s Campbell soup cans, and branding.
Recently, I have worked on the Inca Religion project, a part of the South American culture that is celebrated through festivals, and lavishness of the golden sun god ‘Inti’.
In addition to this, I have written a report on how children and young people can engage in creative experiences with ‘new collections’ and literature, inspired by a conference I attended at Leeds Art Gallery.
